Summary/Objective

The Project Manager acts in an engineering and construction management capacity under normal supervision, overseeing all activities of assigned commercial drywall projects in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role ensures successful project delivery by coordinating field and office operations, managing cost and schedule, and maintaining client relations.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Interpret and manage project documents including contracts, drawings, specifications, and change orders.
  • Develop budgets, review and prepare pricing for change orders, and monitor cost controls.
  • Coordinate procurement, delivery, and tracking of materials.
  • Maintain project schedules and collaborate with field personnel to ensure progress and resolve issues.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction methods and project milestones.
  • Administer and approve project accounting items such as invoices, payroll, and requisitions.
  • Prepare and deliver timely reporting including field reports, forecasts, and month-end summaries.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, representing the company in meetings and correspondence.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
  • Participate as an instructor in internal training programs.
  • Support marketing and client engagement activities related to assigned projects.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.

Work Environment

This position operates in both office and active construction site environments. Site visits may include exposure to uneven terrain, varying weather conditions, loud noises, and potentially hazardous materials.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see. This position may require long periods of sitting at a desk, using computers and other office technology. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds and walking through construction sites is expected.

Expected Hours of Work

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on project demands. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

Travel

Occasional local travel is required to visit project sites, client offices, and vendor locations. Estimated travel: less than 15%.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Finance, or Accounting preferred. Minimum of 5–7 years of construction experience with at least 2 years as an Assistant Project Manager in commercial drywall or a related trade.

Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Work Authorization

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Some projects may require U.S. citizenship based on contract stipulations.
