Project Manager – E-Commerce & DME Operations

Culver City, United States

Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor or W-2 Employee (flexible)
Location: Hybrid / Remote with occasional on-site meetings (Southern California preferred)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the launch, development, and day-to-day management of a new e-commerce platform specializing in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and wound care products. This individual will play a pivotal role in building the business from the ground up — overseeing vendor relations, operations, marketing strategy, and the creation of an online store where products will be sold directly and through third-party channels.

The ideal candidate has proven experience launching and scaling healthcare/e-commerce companies, is highly organized, and can manage both strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • E-Commerce Development & Management
  • Oversee the creation, launch, and ongoing management of the e-commerce store.
  • Manage product listings, pricing, and inventory workflows.
  • Coordinate with developers/designers to ensure user-friendly website functionality.
  • Vendor & Supply Chain Management
  • Identify and establish relationships with vendors and manufacturers of DME and wound care products.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply chain logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Operations & Project Oversight
  • Develop workflows, SOPs, and internal processes for smooth daily operations.
  • Monitor KPIs, sales performance, and vendor fulfillment timelines.
  • Handle licensing, legal, and compliance requirements related to medical products.
  • Marketing & Business Growth
  • Partner with marketing resources to develop digital and traditional campaigns.
  • Manage SEO, social media, email marketing, and paid ads to drive online sales.
  • Explore partnerships with third-party platforms and healthcare providers to expand reach.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Work directly with leadership and clinical staff to align business operations with patient needs.
  • Provide progress updates, reports, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Proven track record in launching and scaling an e-commerce store, ideally in healthcare/DME or medical supplies.
  • Strong background in project management, vendor negotiations, and operations.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA, and CMS regulations related to DME products a plus.
  • Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, or other e-commerce platforms.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation & Structure

  • Flexible: can be hired as a 1099 consultant or W-2 employee depending on candidate preference and company needs.
  • Competitive salary/contract rate based on experience, with potential for performance-based bonuses.
