Location: Hybrid / Remote with occasional on-site meetings (Southern California preferred)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the launch, development, and day-to-day management of a new e-commerce platform specializing in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and wound care products. This individual will play a pivotal role in building the business from the ground up — overseeing vendor relations, operations, marketing strategy, and the creation of an online store where products will be sold directly and through third-party channels.
The ideal candidate has proven experience launching and scaling healthcare/e-commerce companies, is highly organized, and can manage both strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- E-Commerce Development & Management
- Oversee the creation, launch, and ongoing management of the e-commerce store.
- Manage product listings, pricing, and inventory workflows.
- Coordinate with developers/designers to ensure user-friendly website functionality.
- Vendor & Supply Chain Management
- Identify and establish relationships with vendors and manufacturers of DME and wound care products.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply chain logistics.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Operations & Project Oversight
- Develop workflows, SOPs, and internal processes for smooth daily operations.
- Monitor KPIs, sales performance, and vendor fulfillment timelines.
- Handle licensing, legal, and compliance requirements related to medical products.
- Marketing & Business Growth
- Partner with marketing resources to develop digital and traditional campaigns.
- Manage SEO, social media, email marketing, and paid ads to drive online sales.
- Explore partnerships with third-party platforms and healthcare providers to expand reach.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work directly with leadership and clinical staff to align business operations with patient needs.
- Provide progress updates, reports, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Proven track record in launching and scaling an e-commerce store, ideally in healthcare/DME or medical supplies.
- Strong background in project management, vendor negotiations, and operations.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA, and CMS regulations related to DME products a plus.
- Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, or other e-commerce platforms.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Compensation & Structure
- Flexible: can be hired as a 1099 consultant or W-2 employee depending on candidate preference and company needs.
- Competitive salary/contract rate based on experience, with potential for performance-based bonuses.
