Overview

HealthyMD is a healthcare innovator operating with a startup spirit and a collaborative culture. We are building a new PMO and need a technical Project Manager who can hit the ground running—leading EHR redesign and process improvement initiatives with minimal oversight. This role requires deep technical PM expertise, proven success in end-to-end EHR implementations, and the ability to manage complex integrations across EHR systems, pharmacies, TPAs, and data warehouses.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong vendor management skills, experience driving interface development and interoperability, and the ability to prepare executive-level status reports quickly. If you thrive in ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and can leverage AI/digital tools for efficiency, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead EHR redesign and implementation projects, ensuring seamless integration with pharmacies, TPAs, and data warehouses.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to optimize workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage end-to-end EHR implementations, including interface development and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, APIs).
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, serving as the primary liaison for EHR and integration partners.
  • Apply project management principles to deliver projects on time, within scope, and align with organizational goals.
  • Prepare executive-ready dashboards and status updates in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and foster collaboration between technical staff, business leaders, and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and security standards.
  • Explore and leverage AI tools to enhance project efficiency and reporting.

Strategic PMO Development

  • Contribute to establishing HealthyMD’s PMO framework, including governance, templates, and best practices.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to optimize workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Recommend digital capabilities and AI-driven automation for project tracking and reporting.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Schedule and lead vendor demos, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Develop vendor scorecards, KPIs, and ROI analysis to support decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, serving as the primary liaison for integration projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor deliverables to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (clinical, IT, operations, sales) and external partners to align project objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, Business Administration
  • PMP, CSM, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • 5+ years of technical project management experience in healthcare and EHR environments.
  • Proven success in EHR redesigns and implementations, including interface oversight.
  • Strong experience managing vendor relationships and driving end-to-end implementations.
  • Ability to hit the ground running without hand-holding—expertise in PM methodologies and principles is a MUST.
  • Experience with project planning tools (MS Project, JIRA, ADO, Trello, Monday, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance and regulations.
  • Ability to speak both operationally and technically.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a startup-like environment with shifting priorities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with EHR’s (e.g., Charm, eClinicals, Sapphire, Epic, etc.).
  • Experience with reporting and automation.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives in healthcare.
