Project Manager – Commercial HVAC (Mechanical)

We are currently seeking a seasoned Project Manager with a strong background in commercial HVAC mechanical systems to lead and oversee projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of project management experience within the HVAC mechanical trade, ideally with exposure to healthcare, institutional, educational, or commercial direct-to-owner sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of assigned HVAC mechanical projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Provide executive-level oversight and decision-making across all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Allocate and manage labor and material resources efficiently to support project objectives.
• Interpret and review construction drawings and specifications to guide project execution.
• Implement and monitor project-specific management procedures and controls to ensure contractual and financial compliance.
• Coordinate regularly with the Operations Department to assess and meet manpower requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Prepare and manage job estimates, change orders, project documentation, and billing.
• Provide ongoing project updates and reports to company leadership.
• Conduct bi-monthly on-site safety meetings and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
• Develop a schedule of values in alignment with the project estimate and manage monthly job billings.
• Actively support and participate in employee training, professional development, and trade association involvement.
• Maintain and update Customer Sales Logs regularly.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or completion of a two-year technical program preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the HVAC mechanical trade.
• At least 2 years of experience in project estimating and bid preparation preferred.

Required Skills:

• Strong technical understanding of HVAC/R systems and supporting utilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Thorough knowledge of local and industry codes relevant to HVAC/R.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources, and drive project outcomes.
• Effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
• Strong estimating skills and understanding of project scheduling.
• Hands-on knowledge of HVAC-specific trades including pipefitting, ductwork, and mechanical systems.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience managing projects in one or more of the following sectors: Healthcare, Institutional, Educational, or Commercial Direct-to-Owner.
