Project Manager (Site-Based, Iceland)


Verne is looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager for a period of 12 months, to take the lead on the delivery of a large-scale project based in Iceland. This is an on-site role, where you’ll oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of the project. This will include operational, technical, financial, and client management responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure excellence at every stage.


In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day project operations, including scheduling, technical delivery, financial tracking, and risk management.
  • Coordinating with supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Monitoring budgets, forecasts, and scope changes while maintaining profitability.
  • Leading on-site health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Managing client and stakeholder relationships, representing Verne at meetings, and ensuring transparent communication.
  • Driving project governance, KPIs, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Leading and mentoring project teams on-site to ensure collaboration and accountability.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale construction or infrastructure projects on-site.
  • Strong project management skills with expertise in financial and commercial oversight.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of project delivery frameworks, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-disciplinary teams on-site.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
