Role Overview:
Lead and deliver electrical scope of construction projects from start to handover. Full responsibility for cost, time, quality, and safety of all MEP-electrical works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop project schedules, manpower histogram, and material procurement plans for electrical scope
- Team Management: Lead electrical engineers, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors. Assign tasks and monitor performance
- Client Coordination: Main point of contact for client, consultant, and main contractor on all electrical matters. Attend progress meetings
- Technical Oversight: Approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical queries. Resolve design clashes with other trades
- Budget & Cost Control: Monitor electrical BOQ, track variations, prepare VO claims, and control project costs to stay within budget
- Authorities & Approvals: Liaise with DEWA/SEWA/FEWA, Civil Defence, and municipalities for NOCs, inspections, and final connections
- Procurement: Float enquiries, evaluate quotations, negotiate with vendors, and raise POs for major electrical equipment
- Site Execution: Ensure installation follows specs, drawings, and local regulations. Conduct site walks and resolve site issues
- Quality & Handover: Implement ITPs and checklists. Lead testing & commissioning. Close snags and hand over O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties
- HSE Compliance: Enforce safety standards for all electrical works. Coordinate with HSE team for high-risk activities
- Reporting: Submit weekly/monthly progress reports, look-ahead programs, and dashboards to senior management
- Contract Management: Interpret contract conditions, manage risks, and handle contractual correspondence with client/consultant
Requirements:
Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. PMP/PRINCE2 is a plusExperience: 8–12+ years in UAE/GCC, with 3+ years as PM on large-scale projects — towers, malls, infrastructure
Technical: Strong in LV/MV, ELV, lighting, fire alarm, BMS. Solid knowledge of DEWA regs, BS 7671, NFPA, local codes
Software: Primavera P6/MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MS Office
Skills: Leadership, negotiation, planning, and problem-solving under pressure
Other: UAE driving license. Society of Engineers membership preferred
