Project Manager - Set Design and Fabrication Studio

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager to take on a leading role in our Set Design and Fabrication Studio. This role is at the heart of transforming creative visions into tangible environments for digital productions, experiential events and retail. As a Project Manager, you will oversee all phases of set design development, from initial concept through fabrication and installation, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

A successful Project Manager should have:

  • Experience in set, event, experiential marketing and or interior design and fabrication
  • Solid communication and project coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to wear multiple hats as a part of a lean team, supporting the work of others on the team and taking on new projects and tasks as needed

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of set design projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate closely with creative directors, production teams, and clients to interpret design concepts and translate them into actionable fabrication plans.
  • Serves as the internal expert on all design documents and specifications and maintains a current and real-time log of all issues in an organized and scalable manner
  • Oversee the fabrication process by supervising carpentry, woodworking, construction painting, rigging, lighting design elements, and other technical aspects.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards by managing the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting equipment, and construction safety protocols during all phases of production.
  • Manage procurement of materials like wood, fabric, paint (including commercial painting), and hardware while maintaining quality control throughout fabrication.
  • Supervise installation processes on-site—coordinating with designers, carpenters, scenics and production teams—to ensure seamless setup of sets within designated timelines.
  • Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders regarding project progress; document changes or issues promptly for resolution.

Salary is commesurate with experience. Ideally, we would start with a project based trial period with full time salaried position to follow. We are commited to supporting our of our employees growth in a collaborative team setting that deeply values creativity and craftsmanship.

Pay: $32.58 - $45.00 per hour
