Project Manager - Steel Structures | Thrissur

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee our portfolio of high-stakes steel structure projects, including Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) and Space Frame Structures. The person must be responsible for bridging the gap between design, fabrication, and on-site execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Planning & Strategy

• Develop comprehensive project timelines for all projects.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings to define project scope, resource requirements, and potential structural challenges.
• Coordinate with the design team to review shop drawings and ensure they align with site realities.

2. Site & Execution Management

• Oversee the end-to-end erection process for PEBs and complex Space Frame systems.
• Manage multiple site supervisors and sub-contractors, ensuring efficient manpower allocation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues on-site, particularly regarding alignment, bolting, and welding quality.

3. Financial & Resource Oversight

• Monitor project budgets to prevent cost overruns in material wastage or labor delays.
• Manage the procurement and delivery schedules of steel components from the fabrication unit to the site.
• Certify contractor bills and manage client invoicing/billing cycles.

4. Quality Assurance & Safety (HSE)

• Enforce strict Quality Control (QC) standards for steel grades, weld quality, and paint thickness.
• Implement rigorous safety protocols, ensuring 100% compliance with height-work safety and heavy lifting regulations.

5. Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and structural consultants.
• Provide regular progress reports to the General Manager regarding project milestones and bottlenecks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & SKILLS

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. A Master’s in Construction Management is a plus.
• Technical Expertise: * Deep understanding of IS Codes related to steel structures.
• Hands-on experience with Space Frame node assembly and PEB primary/secondary member installation.
• Proficiency in reading complex structural drawings and GA drawings.
• Software: Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera and AutoCAD. Familiarity with Tekla or STAAD.Pro is an advantage.
• Leadership: Proven track record of managing at least 3-4 large-scale projects simultaneously.
• Communication: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage diverse labor forces and high-profile clients.
