Role Overview
We are looking for a mid-level Project Manager with a general understanding of security, compliance, and risk management to join Client's growing team. This is not a deep technical security role — we are seeking someone who brings a security-aware mindset to project execution: someone who understands data privacy, vendor risk, and compliance considerations as they relate to managing cross-functional digital and operational projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage cross-functional projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations are met
- Apply a security-aware approach to project planning — identifying compliance, data privacy, and vendor risk requirements early in the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with IT, legal, and security teams to ensure projects align with GDPR, CCPA, and internal data governance policies
- Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews
- Maintain project documentation, risk registers, and status reporting for stakeholders and leadership
- Manage third-party vendor onboarding processes, including basic security review coordination
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and tools
- Collaborate with marketing, technology, and operations teams on digital and e-commerce initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in project or program management roles
- Hands-on experience working with Security Controls — including implementing, monitoring, or managing controls within a project or operational context
- Demonstrated understanding of security-adjacent concepts: data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), vendor risk management, and compliance frameworks at a project level
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with e-commerce, D2C, consumer goods, CPG, or beauty/lifestyle brands preferred
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, or MS Project
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with in-office presence 2–3 days per week in San Francisco, CA
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM (Certified Scrum Master), or CSPO certification
- Experience working with or within Unilever or similar global CPG/beauty conglomerates
- Familiarity with privacy-by-design principles in project execution
- Exposure to martech, digital transformation, or e-commerce platform projects
