Project Manager — Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant – Tallahassee, FL

We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager – Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant to join our Tallahassee team. This role is ideal for a driven, detail-focused leader with experience delivering complex treatment plant projects. You’ll run your projects like a business — with full financial transparency, ownership, and the opportunity to directly influence company success.

What You’ll Do

Project Leadership

  • Manage all phases of W/WWTP project delivery — planning, budgeting, execution, and closeout.

  • Maintain complete ownership of project scope, schedule, and cost control.

  • Lead and coach teams with clear expectations, communication, and accountability.

Financial Management

  • Maintain full profit-and-loss responsibility for assigned projects.

  • Forecast budgets, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for savings and efficiency.

  • Ensure accurate cost documentation, submittals, and billing.

Team Leadership

  • Inspire a strong culture of safety, clarity, and collaboration.

  • Mentor and develop superintendents, foremen, and project engineers.

  • Support field leaders with resources, communication, and decision-making.

Risk & Client Management

  • Anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and inspectors.

  • Represent Petticoat-Schmitt with professionalism and integrity.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of project management experience in civil construction, preferably with water or wastewater treatment plants.

  • Strong background managing self-performed structural concrete and process/mechanical scopes.

  • Proven experience with P&L accountability and financial forecasting.

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, HCSS, Procore/Prolog, or similar.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Teams.
