RGA Office of Architectural Design is a regional leader in Architectural Design for new industrial warehouse, distribution, advanced manufacturing, and E-commerce fulfillment centers in Southern California. Our client base includes regional / national / international developers, institutional portfolio investors, and Fortune 100 companies. In total RGA has completed over 200 million square feet of vertical development and planned tens of millions more. Staff includes LEED Certified professionals and have completed over 50 LEED Certified buildings. RGA is looking to add another member to our team to help lead numerous commercial interior tenant improvement projects. As a firm we value Principal involvement in all projects, and hands on contributions by all team members. We are a small size firm, and as such all of our team members are simultaneously involved in several projects, in different phases, at any given time. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in numerous fast moving projects and has excellent growth opportunity for those with the aptitude to develop their design and project management skills. The position is full time with competitive salary and benefits package including 401k. Our office is an open creative space including onsite amenities and gym, and location is central to Orange County near the Irvine Spectrum.

Responsibilities and Duties

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside a talented team with Principal guidance on commercial interior / tenant improvement projects. Take a lead role in problem solving for new projects, identifying project scope, space planning, and assembling a team of consultants to execute new projects. Oversee and participate in the CAD / BIM construction drawing production, team coordination, and milestone progress reviews with clients.
  • Communicate and direct project consultants (Struct / MEP) regarding design coordination aspects and project schedule requirements.
  • Take a lead role in city approvals, including responding to plan check comments and coordinating submittals to city agencies. This may occasionally include driving to the various agencies in LA County and the Inland Empire to submit drawing packages as needed to obtain permits.

Qualifications and Skills

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years experience in the Architectural field in the US.
  • Revit and/or AutoCAD fluent. Fluency in both is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to independently manage the production of architectural construction documents, provide direction to consultant disciplines, meet client schedules and expectations, and work with city agencies through the plan check and permit process.
  • Must be familiar with construction job sites and willing to communicate with contractors, respond to shop drawings and RFI's, and problem solve for unforeseen construction issues that will arise.
  • Bachelors Degree in architecture. Related design degree (Interiors) may be considered.
  • Must be skilled in Excel, Word, email software / management.
  • Must be very knowledgeable with the IBC / CBC building codes and current disabled access (ADA) compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge or experience with concrete tilt-up construction is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry standard interior TI elements.
  • MUST have good teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Remote work

  • This is an in office position, although occasional remote work may be acceptable from time to time for family care. Full time remote work or out of state work is not being considered at this time due to the collaborative nature of our work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
