Overview
Greenbrier is currently seeking a dynamic and highly organized Project Manager/Transition Lead to spearhead complex project initiatives and oversee seamless transitions within one of our DOD projects. The Transition Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for transitioning requirements from multiple legacy contracts to the new Program. During transition periods, the Transition Manager shall be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the transition and meeting weekly with the Sponsor to review contract and program/project status.
REQUIRED SKILLS

● Minimum ten (10) years of experience in managing transitions for software applications, with a proven track record of delivering complex transitions on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
● Minimum three (3) Experience analyzing complex technical issues and developing effective solutions.
● Minimum three (3) years of Experience with IT service management frameworks and methodologies, such as ITIL, Agile, and/or CMMI. Experience in managing cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, infrastructure specialists, and other stakeholders.
● Minimum five (5) years in managing transitions for large-scale software applications transitions for enterprise-level applications
Job Responsiblities
- Proven experience managing enterprise software projects within an IT infrastructure environment using Agile, SAFe, Waterfall or hybrid methodologies.
- Strong familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, VersionOne, TFS (Team Foundation Server), SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated expertise in requirements gathering, analysis skills, and developing test plans including test-driven development approaches.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud computing platforms like AWS (Amazon Web Services) along with database systems such as SQL and Oracle.
- Experience leading program management initiatives involving multiple projects with complex dependencies across organizational units.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with a focus on team collaboration, negotiation skills, stakeholder engagement, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively through time management techniques while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with IT governance standards including disaster recovery planning and compliance frameworks such as PMBOK or ITIL.
- Strong communication skills enabling clear articulation of technical concepts to non-technical audiences; adept at facilitating meetings using tools like Visio or SharePoint for documentation purposes.
