Position Summary
We are setting up a new greenfield manufacturing facility and are seeking an experienced
Project Procurement Manager
to lead all procurement activities for the project. This role involves end-to-end sourcing and contracting for plant & machinery, material handling systems, utilities, infrastructure-related equipment, and services.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Planning

Develop and implement procurement strategies for capital equipment, utilities, and project-related services.

Work closely with project, engineering, and construction teams to understand technical requirements and timelines.

Prepare procurement schedules aligned with overall project plan and milestones.
Engineering & Capital Equipment Procurement

Lead procurement of process machinery, injection molding machines, automation systems, material handling equipment, utilities (boilers, compressors, chillers, etc.), and other critical systems.

Review technical specifications, collaborate with engineering for bid evaluations, and ensure vendor compliance.
Vendor Development & Contract Management

Identify, evaluate, and develop a strong vendor base (domestic and international) for project requirements.

Lead techno-commercial negotiations with equipment suppliers, contractors, and service providers.

Finalize contracts ensuring clarity on scope, cost, delivery, warranties, and after-sales support.
Project Execution Support

Ensure timely procurement and delivery of equipment and systems as per project schedule.

Coordinate with logistics, installation, and commissioning teams for smooth execution.

Track procurement progress, resolve bottlenecks, and manage risks proactively.
Governance & Compliance

Ensure adherence to project budgets and cost-control measures.

Maintain transparent documentation of procurement processes for audit and approvals.

Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and safety standards.
Key Skills & Competencies

Strong expertise in engineering procurement for greenfield/brownfield projects.

In-depth knowledge of capital equipment sourcing, utilities, and contracts.

Strong negotiation, vendor management, and project coordination skills.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple procurement packages simultaneously.

Proficiency in sap erp would be helpful

Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / Production Engineering (mandatory).

12–14 years of experience in engineering procurement, preferably with exposure to
greenfield project procurement
.

Proven track record in capital equipment, utilities, and infrastructure procurement.
-
Experience in handling import procurement and global sourcing will be an added advantage.
