Project Program Manager

Intrinsic Resolution, LLC, in support of Powder River Industries (PRI), is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support a Department of Energy (DOE) contract at the Washington, DC headquarters. This is a hands-on, mission-critical role where the most essential competency is advanced project scheduling and estimating.

The ideal candidate proactively engages functional areas to collect information and build realistic schedules, understands the use of float and rolling wave planning, and is comfortable working in an environment where the team itself frequently generates requirements — without reliance on external guidance. Planning for extensive external dependencies is a daily requirement.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, manage, and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project or Microsoft 365 tools
  • Coordinate with team leads to track progress, allocate resources, and identify potential delays or risks
  • Communicate milestones, critical path, and deadlines appropriately as directed by team leadership
  • Develop cost estimates derived directly from project schedules; present findings to company leadership as required
  • Prepare written reports and briefings; attend meetings and provide actionable information to the team before actions are required
  • Build and operate a risk management board — collect risks and mitigation plans from the team
  • Build and operate a requirements board — collect, prioritize, and communicate requirements internally
  • Ensure all contract deliverables are compliant and delivered on time following internal review
  • Track CLIN budget burn rates and communicate percent-complete status (EVM not required)
  • Collect and report contract metrics monthly; present program activities to company leadership as requested
  • Manage organizational compliance with company and customer policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with team leads on staffing requirements; develop qualification documents and partner with recruiting to source skilled resources
  • Provide administrative support as needed: visitor requests, seating assignments, hot-desk schedules, and similar tasks

  • Experience building cost estimates from project schedule activity data
  • Effective collaborator; thrives in a team-first, results-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — ability to produce reports, briefings, and executive-ready presentations
