Job Location: Gandhinagar, India


Job Role: Project Scientist – Microbial & Biogas Research


Designation: Executive


Educational Qualification : M.Sc., M.Tech in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Environmental or Industrial Biotechnology or related field.


Work Experience:

Minimum 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in microbial strain work, analytical testing, and operation of advanced lab instrumentation


Job Responsibilities:

A. Microbial Research & Analysis

  • Lead microbial workflows, including strain isolation, culturing, and DNA extraction.

B. Analytical Testing & Instrumentation

  • Analyze bio-slurry and organic fertilizer samples for nutrient and elemental content.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as UV-Vis, AAS, GC (FID/TCD), spectroscopy, OES, flame photometer, centrifuge, and incubators.

C. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain detailed experimental records for internal reporting and regulatory compliance.

D. Coordination & Lab Management

  • Coordinate with allied units such as Fertilizer Testing, Fermentation Chemistry, and other initiatives.
  • Ensure lab safety standards, equipment readiness, and audit-aligned record keeping.


Software Knowledge:

Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting. Experienced with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Skilled in data visualization and statistical analysis using tools such as GraphPad and R.


Key Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficiency in microbial techniques: strain isolation, culturing, DNA extraction.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced analytical instruments and sample preparation tools
  • Strong understanding of nutrient profiling and elemental analysis
  • Ability to follow SOPs and maintain consistency across tests
  • Skilled in scientific documentation and compliance reporting
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication
  • Commitment to lab safety, equipment maintenance, and audit readiness
  • Attention to detail and precision in experimental execution
