About The Role
As part of Bureau Veritas' expanding regional renewables business, we are seeking a highly skilled and reputable Projects Manager to lead Owner's Engineering Services across Renewable Energy projects in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
The ideal candidate will be a recognized renewable energy expert, responsible for overseeing permitting and licensing, managing supply chain activities, leading on site construction supervision, ensuring quality and HSE compliance, and achieving successful commissioning and handover to the project owner.
Key Responsibilities Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring all project deliverables align with their objectives.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing progress updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct multiple site visits and manage on site teams, while coordinating directly with customers and project stakeholders.
Project Management & Execution
- Lead and coordinate project activities, resources, timelines, and deliverables to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, timeline, and technical documentation.
- Support the Business Development team by contributing to proposal preparation and technical inputs.
Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Implement quality control measures to ensure construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications.
- Monitor project costs and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Review and validate EPC contractor invoices and billing, ensuring accuracy based on actual work completed.
- Prepare QHSE and incident reports as required, ensuring compliance with Bureau Veritas standards and client HSE policies.
Specialized Support Areas
- Support permitting and licensing activities within Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
- Manage supply chain activities, including contractor and vendor coordination.
- Oversee construction management in collaboration with EPC and subcontractors.
- Lead commissioning processes and ensure a smooth and successful handover to the project owner.
Qualifications & Required Profile Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in managing solar and/or renewable energy projects.
- Proven experience delivering renewable projects with a combined capacity of 1,000 MW or more.
- Strong understanding of solar PV, wind, hydropower systems, and Owner's Engineering services.
- Prior experience working with major developers in the region is a strong advantage.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Deep knowledge of industry standards, engineering practices, and construction specifications.
- Solid understanding of safety, environmental, and quality regulations in the renewable construction sector.
- Strong project management capabilities including planning, organization, and resource allocation.
- Technical competency, flexibility, analytical mindset, and strong problem solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and manage project risks.
- Customer centered approach and ability to maintain excellent client relationships.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Training or certification in Solar PV technology is an advantage.
- Knowledge of grid interconnection and civil engineering aspects is a plus.
- Experience in supply chain support and construction management for renewable projects is preferred.
Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) - Mandatory.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar credentials - Preferred.
Technical Tools
- Proficiency in project management software (MS Project or Primavera).
- Strong IT skills, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
