Senior Project Engineer – MEP to oversee and manage multi-disciplinary MEP systems including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, ELV, Fire Alarm, and Firefighting for large-scale projects. The candidate will ensure projects are executed efficiently, in compliance with designs, specifications, UAE standards, and authority requirements while coordinating effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management & Execution

  • Lead and manage the full project lifecycle: planning, mobilization, execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Supervise installation and integration of MEP systems including HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, ELV, Fire Alarm, and Firefighting.
  • Review and approve project schedules, work programs, method statements, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
  • Manage daily site operations, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely project progress.
  • Plan and coordinate system shutdowns or upgrades with minimal operational disruption.

2. Technical & Engineering Support

  • Provide engineering guidance and technical support across all MEP disciplines.
  • Review IFC drawings, coordination drawings, and technical documents for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
  • Evaluate retrofit or system upgrade requirements, propose solutions, and prepare technical reports.

3. Client, Consultant & Authority Coordination

  • Act as the primary technical contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular progress, coordination, and technical meetings to ensure clear communication and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate inspections and approvals with UAE authorities including DEWA/SEWA/ADDC, SIRA, Civil Defence, and Dubai Municipality.

4. Cost, Resource & Contract Management

  • Manage project budgets, cost control measures, cash flow, and resource allocation.
  • Review and approve variations, claims, procurement schedules, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Monitor productivity, materials utilization, and subcontractor performance.

5. QA/QC, HSE & Compliance

  • Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with project specifications and approved designs.
  • Monitor site safety, enforce HSE standards, and conduct risk assessments.
  • Oversee inspections, system testing, balancing, and commissioning activities across all MEP systems.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and review progress reports, risk assessments, project correspondence, and handover documentation.
  • Ensure timely submission of RFIs, IRs, MIRs, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and project closeout reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10–12 years of experience in MEP contracting with extensive multi-disciplinary project experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, ELV, Fire Alarm, and Firefighting systems integration.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Primavera, Autodesk Revit, and BIM is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, site coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UAE standards, codes, and authority procedures.
