Property Insurance Claim Specialist – Processing Storm Restoration Claims

Green Oak Exteriors is seeking an experienced property insurance claim specialist that is experienced processing storm restoration claims to oversee insurance restoration claims from submission through approval and handoff to production.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Woodbridge, VA. The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced with Xactimate, comfortable speaking with homeowners and adjusters, and capable of managing multiple files at once.

• Base salary plus performance incentives
• Bonus opportunities tied to claim approvals, supplements, and closed claim volume

Responsibilities

• Manage interior and exterior insurance restoration claims from submission through final approval
• Coordinate adjuster meetings between homeowners, field representatives, and insurance carriers
• Communicate directly with homeowners throughout the claim process to provide updates and next steps
• Review insurance scopes, estimates, and claim paperwork for accuracy
• Write and submit supplements using Xactimate when coverage is missing or underpaid
• Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters for proper scope approval and fair claim value
• Track claim status daily and maintain accurate notes in the company CRM system
• Assist homeowners with depreciation questions, supplements, invoices, and final payments
• Work closely with office staff, inspectors, and project management to keep claims moving efficiently
• Follow up consistently on pending claims, re-inspections, supplements, and partial approvals
• Ensure files are complete and organized before handoff to production

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience handling interior or exterior restoration insurance claims
• Strong understanding of residential interior and exterior restoration claims including roofing, siding, gutters, windows, drywall, paint, flooring, and storm damage
• Experience using Xactimate required
• Experience supplementing insurance estimates required
• Ability to read insurance scopes and identify missing line items
• Strong understanding of depreciation, ACV, RCV, recoverable depreciation, and supplements
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Highly organized with strong follow-up skills
• Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines at once
• Comfortable speaking directly with homeowners, adjusters, and insurance carriers
• Experience with CRM systems preferred
• Experience in roofing, restoration, interior reconstruction, or exterior remodeling preferred
• Bilingual is a plus
