Ned Baker Real Estate is a Real Estate and Property Management firm in Salem, OR. We currently manage over 700 units in the Willamette Valley; mainly single family homes. We are a small, family-owned business with under ten employees. We are searching for a Property Inspector to join our team.
Job Purpose/Summary:
Perform timely interior and exterior inspections of rental units to ensure quality management of the properties our clients have entrusted us to manage. This position maintains direct contact with both tenants and property owners and requires a friendly demeanor, outstanding time management skills, and someone who is observant and detail oriented.
Duties include:
- Schedule and perform routine inspections of rental units.
- Take photographs and document findings to create inspection reports.
- Notify property owner of maintenance issues and potential tenant violations found and address each issue as needed.
- Create work orders for maintenance issues and follow-up to make sure they are resolved in a timely manner.
- Conduct inspections with local Housing Authorities and City Inspectors as needed.
- Discuss tenant violations found during the inspection with the tenant and tactfully re-educate tenant of conditions they had agreed on when they signed the rental agreement.
- Send notices of correction to tenants and follow-up to ensure remedies have been made.
- Post notices on doors as needed.
- Conduct exterior inspections of each rental unit on a quarterly basis.
- Assist with answering phones and helping in the lobby if needed.
- Other tasks as requested by the Assistant Property Manager, Property Manager, or Principal Broker.
Work experience and skills preferred:
- Previous property management experience
- Outstanding customer service skills and a positive attitude
- Excellent time management and a disposition towards being proactive
- Detail oriented and observant eye
- Impeccable attendance
- Fluent in both English and Spanish is preferred
Professional development:

Job Type: Full-time (Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm)
