Proposal and Content Writer

I am working alongside an established law firm renowned for handling complex legal matters for institutional clients, and collaborate with a highly talented, team-oriented group of attorneys and business professionals

We are seeking an experienced Proposal and Content Writer to join our Marketing & Communications and Business Development team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the firm’s business development efforts, with a primary focus on drafting and managing Requests for Proposal (RFPs), award submissions, and other client-facing materials.

This is a highly collaborative position that works closely with attorneys, senior leadership, and business professionals across the firm to help win new business and strengthen existing client relationships.

The role reports to the Managing Director of Marketing and is supported by the Senior Manager of Proposals and Content.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and manage RFP responses from inception through submission, with guidance from senior leadership
• Collaborate with attorneys and business development colleagues to develop tailored, persuasive proposal strategies
• Coordinate proofreading, finalization, and on-time submission of proposals while managing an active proposal calendar
• Prepare post-RFP materials to support attorney client interviews
• Maintain and update proposal templates, content libraries, and tracking tools, including win/loss reporting
• Assist in refining RFP processes, workflows, and reporting to improve efficiency and quality
• Research and draft submissions for industry awards and accolades
• Demonstrate ongoing curiosity about the securities litigation landscape and the firm’s client base
• Support additional marketing and business development initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience, ideally in professional services
• Prior experience writing RFPs at a law firm, investment firm, asset management firm, or similar environment
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling messaging
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Comfortable working closely with senior leadership on high-priority, deadline-driven projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience with content management or proposal automation tools; familiarity with proposal software is a plus

Work Environment

• Full-time, exempt position based in New York City
• Hybrid schedule: three days in office (Tuesday and Wednesday required), two days remote
• Competitive salary range: $100,000 – $120,000 , commensurate with experience
