A Proposal Officer in a construction or contracting in Al Jaber Trading & Contracting Company mainly manages the preparation and submission of tender and proposal documents for projects.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Review tender invitations, RFQs, and RFPs
Coordinate with estimation, engineering, procurement, and finance teams
Prepare technical and commercial proposal documents
Organize prequalification documents and company profiles
Ensure submissions meet client requirements and deadlines
Maintain tender logs and document control
Prepare bid bonds, compliance forms, and supporting documents
Communicate with clients regarding clarifications
Compile presentations and proposal packages
Track ongoing bids and contract awards
Common Daily Tasks
Downloading tenders from Ashghal or client portals
Formatting proposal documents
Following up with subcontractors/suppliers for quotations
Preparing compliance matrices
Checking BOQs and submission checklists
Coordinating courier/e-submission before deadline
Skills Required
Strong MS Office skills (especially Word and Excel)
Document control and formatting ability
Good written English
Time management and deadline handling
Coordination and communication skills
Knowledge of tendering procedures in Qatar/GCC
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or diploma (Business, Engineering, Administration, etc.)
2-5 years of experience in construction tendering/proposals
Experience with EPC, MEP, civil, or infrastructure projects
Familiarity with Ashghal tender requirements
Knowledge of ERP systems or Aconex is a plus
