Role Overview
As a Prosthetic Technician, you will be responsible for the technical construction, assembly, and repair of artificial limbs (prostheses) and supportive braces (orthoses). You will work under the guidance of the Orthopaedic Professional to turn clinical designs into functional, high-quality medical devices.
Responsibilities
Use various materials such as thermosetting plastics, resins, carbon fiber, and metal to create custom molded components based on patient casts.
Assemble mechanical components of artificial limbs and perform final finishing, including smoothing and covering for aesthetic appeal.
Diagnose and fix mechanical issues in existing devices, including replacing worn out parts or adjusting alignments.
Operate and maintain workshop machinery safely, including routers, vacuum forming machines, sanders, and hand tools.
Keep track of workshop inventory and ensure that materials are used efficiently to minimize waste.
Ensure every device meets the structural safety standards required for patient use before the final fitting.
Requirements
Matriculation with a 02 years Diploma in Prosthetic and Orthotics from a recognized institute
Age Limit: 18–30 years.
Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
Experience with workshop safety protocols and heavy machinery.
Ability to read and follow technical blueprints and clinical prescriptions.
