Protective Security Officer

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for employment, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: At least two years of armed security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Certification: A valid State of Ohio OPOTA 20-hour firearms training certificate is required.
    • If you do not currently possess this certification, please refer to the attached document for instructions on how to obtain it.
    • Note: This training must be completed at your own expense prior to proceeding.
    • Must be 21 years of age
    • Must be citizen of the United States of America
    • Must complete (sign/date) a Lautenberg Amendment Statement/Domestic Violence certification annually

Important Information About Our Hiring Process:

  • AEPS is not a typical security company. Our hiring process is comprehensive and may take 6 to 8 months.
  • As a Federal contractor, all candidates must pass a government background check, which can take 1 to 6 months.
    • Employment cannot begin until this check is successfully completed.
  • Upon clearance, candidates must complete a physical exam, including an agility test.
  • All new hires are required to complete the following in-house training:
    • 36 hours of classroom instruction
    • 4 hours of OC/BAT training
    • 4 hours of CPR certification
    • 32 hours of firearms training and qualification
