WORK HOURS: M-F, 8-5p / 9-6p (Friday WFH)
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Prototype Artist will be responsible for creating high-quality lettering and embellishments for prototypes of new products and designs. This role involves working closely with designers, engineers, and other team members to bring concepts to life through detailed and functional prototypes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop and construct lettering and embellishments for prototype garments based on design specifications and conceptual drawings.
Apply meticulous attention to detail to ensure prototypes meet design and quality standards.
Work closely with designers, pattern maker, and product managers to refine prototypes and incorporate feedback.
Identify and troubleshoot issues during the prototype development process, making necessary adjustments to improve functionality and aesthetics.
Utilize various programs including Corel Draw and Hotfix rhinestone software to create art for designs. Background with Illustrator is helpful.
Continue to learn new techniques and stay updated with the latest trends as prototype development is always evolving.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in Illustrator or Corel Draw.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education: Associate’s degree in graphic design or equivalent industry experience (3+ years)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience creating vector-based artwork, preferably with previous experience in fashion or apparel products, considered advantageous for internal promotion.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and may have situations where lettering embellishments and/or garments may need to be handled weighing less than 20lb.
TRAVEL
Minimal Travel: Attendance at training and staff meetings is required where applicable. Travel may include overnight stays.
OTHER DUTIES
May be required from time to time to help other departments or members on our team that may need assistance during our busy season.
