1. Job Purpose:
To teach English to primary school students (generally Classes I–V) using effective, child-friendly, and activity-based methods that foster language skills, creativity, and confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
2. Key Responsibilities:
A. Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Develop students’ proficiency in reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and creative writing.
- Incorporate phonics, storytelling, poems, and role-play activities for better language acquisition.
- Use innovative teaching methods including audio-visual aids, worksheets, and digital tools.
- Assess students through formative and summative evaluations and maintain records of progress.
B. Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline, order, and a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Ensure student safety, emotional well-being, and inclusive participation.
- Promote values such as teamwork, respect, and responsibility.
C. Academic Coordination
- Prepare lesson plans, annual plans, and teaching aids in coordination with the academic coordinator.
- Participate in curriculum review, planning meetings, and school improvement programs.
- Support in designing assessments and report card preparation.
D. Co-curricular Activities
- Encourage students to participate in literary activities such as debates, recitations, elocution, drama, and storytelling competitions.
- Assist in organizing school functions, celebrations, assemblies, and exhibitions.
E. Parent & Staff Communication
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistency in teaching standards.
3. Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in English)
- Master Degree (M.A. English)
- B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. (recognized by NCTE)
- Experience:
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in a reputed CBSE (preferred).
- Fresh candidates with strong communication and teaching skills may also be considered.
4. Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent command over English (spoken and written).
- Creative teaching skills with ability to engage young learners.
- Good classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of child psychology and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and digital teaching tools.
- Positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for teaching.
5. Working Conditions:
- Working Hours: As per school schedule.
- Responsibilities may include participation in extra classes, training programs, and events beyond regular hours.
