JOB DESCRIPTION – PRT Mathematics (CBSE Curriculum)

Role Summary

The PRT – Mathematics Teacher is responsible for teaching Mathematics to primary grade students following the CBSE curriculum. The teacher should create an engaging, activity-based learning environment that builds strong foundational numeracy skills and logical thinking.

Key Responsibilities1. Academic Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics to Grades I–V as per CBSE curriculum guidelines.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching aids aligned with learning objectives.
• Develop strong foundational skills in:
• Number sense
• Basic operations
• Measurement
• Geometry
• Data handling
• Conduct regular class tests, assessments, and periodic evaluations.
• Maintain student progress records and academic documentation.

2. Classroom Management

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Use interactive teaching methods such as:
• Activity-based learning
• Math games
• Visual aids
• Smart board/ICT tools
• Manage discipline and encourage participation.

3. Student Development

• Identify slow learners and provide remedial support.
• Encourage problem-solving and logical reasoning skills.
• Promote practical application of mathematical concepts in daily life.

4. School Responsibilities

• Attend staff meetings, PTMs, workshops, and training programs.
• Participate in school events, assemblies, and academic planning.
• Coordinate with co-teachers and subject heads.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and CBSE pattern exams.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or related field.
• B.Ed. (Mandatory as per CBSE norms).
• CTET qualification preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a CBSE school (preferred).

Skills Required

• Strong subject knowledge in primary Mathematics.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Ability to simplify concepts for young learners.
• Classroom management skills.
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, Smart Board usage).

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience in CBSE curriculum.
• Experience in handling primary grades independently.
• Creative, patient, and child-friendly approach.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
