A PRT (Primary Teacher) Mother Teacher is responsible for teaching all subjects to primary students, typically Grades 1- 3 , while also providing emotional and social support to ensure holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach all primary subjects (such as English, Mathematics, Environmental Science) to assigned grades, designing and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Create a nurturing, supportive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters children’s academic, emotional, and social development.
- Track and assess individual student progress, maintain detailed records, and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s academic performance, social adjustment, and well-being, scheduling meetings as necessary.
- Organize and participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and field trips, supervising and guiding students outside the classroom as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues during grade planning, school-wide projects, and staff development activities.
- Manage classroom resources and maintain discipline through positive behavior management strategies.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field (B.Ed.); a specialization in Early Childhood or Primary Education is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience in a reputed school, preferably in primary grades.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills; proficiency with educational technology and tools is desirable.
- CTET/NET qualification and additional certifications are considered an advantage.
