Position Summary
The Social Science Teacher for Grades 3, 4, and 5 is responsible for teaching Environmental Studies (EVS), basic History, Geography, and Civics concepts as per the CBSE curriculum. The teacher will create an engaging, activity-based learning environment that builds curiosity, critical thinking, and awareness about society and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
1Academic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum for Grades 3–5.
- Prepare annual planners, unit plans, and daily lesson plans.
- Use activity-based, experiential, and project-based learning methods.
- Integrate maps, charts, models, storytelling, and digital tools in teaching.
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain notebooks, worksheets, and assessment records.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and create a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage student participation and collaborative learning.
- Address individual learning needs through differentiation.
- Promote values such as respect, responsibility, and citizenship.
Assessment & Reporting
- Prepare question papers and worksheets as per CBSE guidelines.
- Evaluate answer sheets and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain student portfolios and progress records.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and share student progress.
Co-Curricular & School Responsibilities
- Organize Social Science-related activities (map work, exhibitions, projects).
- Support school assemblies, events, and celebrations.
- Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Contribute to school committees as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Arts/Social Science preferred).
- B.Ed. (Mandatory as per CBSE norms).
- Minimum 1–3 years teaching experience (preferred).
- Good communication skills in English.
- Basic computer proficiency.
