PSS worker

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Services (PSS) Worker to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
• Monitor patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
• Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations to maintain confidentiality and safety
• Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs aligned with dietary guidelines
• Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, especially for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or developmental disabilities
• Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through routine cleaning tasks to promote hygiene and comfort
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and assist in updating personalized care plans

Experience

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred
• Hands-on experience providing patient care including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and assisting with ADLs
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice support is highly desirable
• Familiarity with working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or nursing assistant credentials are advantageous
• Experience operating patient lifting equipment like Hoyer lifts and performing heavy lifting safely is beneficial
• Background in social work or long-term care enhances understanding of holistic client support

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
