Psychiatric Care Coordinator

Overview:

The Mental Health Care Coordinator will provide comprehensive medical support to patients within the psychiatric mental health center. This role includes assisting with medical procedures, monitoring patient health, and collaborating with the clinical team to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health care. BAsically, running a 1 person private practice. Office Skills and time management a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

 Assist with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs.

 Monitor and document patient health status and progress.

 Occasionally administer medications as prescribed by the psychiatric provider and ensure proper

documentation.

Crisis Intervention:

 Provide support during psychiatric emergencies, including crisis intervention and

stabilization.

 Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans for those in crisis.

Medication Management:

 Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory.

Collaboration and Consultation:

 Work closely with psychiatric providers, counselors, and other healthcare professionals

to coordinate patient care.

 Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment

plans.

 Provide subject matter consultation to colleagues on medical aspects of patient care.

Time Management and Organization:

 Maintain a weekly schedule that includes patient appointments, staff meetings, and

administrative tasks.

 Ensure timely completion of all clinical documentation and reports.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

 Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including medical histories, treatment

plans, and progress notes.

 Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards for documentation.

Reporting:

 Report to the Medical Director or designated supervisor.

 Ensure clear and effective communication with the clinical team regarding patient care.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

 High School Diploma

Licensure/Certification preferred but not required:

 Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).

 Certified Nursing Assistant

Technical Skills:

 Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

 Microsoft Office

Interpersonal Skills:

 Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with patients, coworkers, and

community partners.

 Demonstrates sensitivity to diversity and possesses multicultural counseling skills.

 Must be willing to conduct both phone and video appointments.

 Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
