JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an immediate hire locally but open to remote options.

The Psychiatric Medication Provider plays a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing psychiatric medications for clients navigating recovery from mental health disorders and addictions. We emphasize a holistic, client-centered approach, integrating medication management with therapy, counseling, and support services to promote long-term wellness. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including initial assessments, medical histories, and ongoing monitoring of clients' mental health status to inform medication decisions.
  • Prescribe, adjust, and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring optimal efficacy while minimizing side effects and interactions, particularly in the context of substance use recovery.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with therapists, counselors, and other team members, incorporating psychotherapy referrals and lifestyle interventions.
  • Monitor client progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment as needed based on response, adherence, and emerging needs.
  • Provide education and counseling to clients and families on medication use, potential side effects, adherence strategies, and recovery integration.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, and external stakeholders for coordinated care, including crisis intervention and referrals.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and QI initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatric pharmacology, addiction medicine, and mental health best practices through continuing education.

Education and Licensure Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with board certification (or board-eligible) in Psychiatry; Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PMHNP); or Physicians Assistant (PA-C) .
  • Active, unrestricted state medical license and DEA registration.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric medication management, with preference for experience in addiction recovery, dual diagnosis, or outpatient settings.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based protocols for treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and substance use disorders.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong diagnostic and clinical judgment skills, with expertise in psychopharmacology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build therapeutic rapport with diverse clients.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems and telehealth platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while exercising independent judgment.
  • Commitment to cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and ethical practice.

Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour
