Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy referrals, and other evidence-based interventions.
- Prescribe and manage medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and botulinum toxin treatments when appropriate.
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up visits, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Advanced MD while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMHNP-BC or equivalent).
- Proven experience in psychiatric settings with exposure to acute care environments such as hospitals or emergency rooms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management including CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Advanced MD, Cerner or eClinicalWorks for efficient documentation.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and interpret diagnostic evaluations like laboratory tests or imaging reports.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams. Preferred qualifications include experience with telehealth platforms, familiarity with Workers' Compensation law or hospice & palliative medicine practices, critical care experience such as ICU or Level I Trauma Center exposure, and knowledge of specialized treatments. Pay: $112,075.45 - $134,972.59 per year
