Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and assisted living environments. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Provide medication management, including the administration of psychotropic medications.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, and botulinum toxin treatments as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in case management and treatment planning.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance mental health care practices.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for patient records management.

Qualifications

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
  • Experience in behavioral health settings is preferred; familiarity with geriatrics, pediatrics, or critical care is a plus.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and experience administering injections.
  • Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) and CPT coding is advantageous.
  • Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and vital sign checks.
  • Experience with telehealth services is beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care while demonstrating empathy and understanding towards individuals facing mental health challenges.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Per diem

Base Pay: $62.00 - $84.00 per hour
