Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health services to diverse patient populations. Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes while monitoring for side effects and adherence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that incorporate psychotherapy, medication management, and patient education.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks to document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services for remote or underserved populations.
  • Provide crisis intervention and triage for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes or emergencies.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives related to psychopharmacology, behavioral health interventions, or innovative treatment modalities like botulinum toxin treatment for certain conditions.

Experience

  • Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure.
  • Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, or inpatient psychiatric units.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those in assisted living or nursing home environments.
  • Knowledge of pharmacological treatments including psychopharmacology principles and medication administration protocols.
  • Familiarity with crisis triage procedures, acute pain management, and emergency psychiatric interventions.
  • Background in clinical research or specialized areas such as hospice & palliative medicine, memory care, or trauma center experience is highly valued. Pay: $80.00 - $100.00 per hour
