ABOUT PVD CARES

PVD Cares Wellness Center is an integrated psychiatric and primary care practice located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. We provide holistic, patient-centered care rooted in a body, mind, and spirit philosophy. We are growing and looking for a compassionate, clinically sharp Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team as an independent contractor.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is an outpatient psychiatric NP role with the option to provide telehealth services. You will carry an independent patient panel, perform psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and collaborate closely with our clinical director and licensed therapist. This is a contractor position — no benefits or PTO are included.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up medication management visits

- Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan

- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with evidence-based practice

- Document timely, accurate clinical notes in the EHR

- Collaborate with the clinical director, therapist, and referring providers

- Provide telehealth services as needed

- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and practice policies

QUALIFICATIONS

- Board certified as PMHNP-BC (ANCC) — required

- Active, unrestricted Rhode Island APRN license — required

- Minimum 6 months of experience as a practicing PMHNP — required

- Experience with adult and/or adolescent psychiatric populations

- Proficiency with EHR documentation

- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organizational skills

- Dual FNP/PMHNP certification is a plus but not required

COMPENSATION

- Option : Starting at $80/hr (based on experience)

- Compensation structure to be discussed during the interview process

- This is a 1099 independent contractor position — no benefits or PTO provided

- Contractor is responsible for maintaining own malpractice insurance
