Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients of all ages.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Provide medication management, including administration and monitoring of psychotropic medications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Offer psychotherapy and counseling services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance treatment methodologies.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Perform necessary procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, and other relevant interventions.

Skills
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of the following skills:

  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.
  • Experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or hospital settings.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health practices and psychopharmacology.
  • Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) and CPT coding.
  • Experience with telehealth services and outpatient care.
  • Strong patient assessment skills including vital signs monitoring and diagnostic evaluation.
  • Ability to perform procedures such as venipuncture, catheterization, spinal tap, and airway management.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of pain management techniques and acute pain management strategies.
  • Understanding of hospice & palliative medicine principles.

Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
