Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients across all age groups, including children, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, utilizing knowledge of psychopharmacology and medication administration protocols.
- Provide psychotherapy services, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), supportive counseling, and behavioral interventions.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, case managers, and social workers to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks to document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.
- Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services for underserved populations.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication management, and wellness strategies.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure.
- NC state license and DEA.
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings both inpatient and outpatient.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner and eclinical works for medical documentation and patient management.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to perform physical examinations and patient assessments confidently. Pay: $85,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
