Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

  • Maintains current State licensure
  • Maintains continuing education requirements for continued medical practice in the State;
  • Provide medication management
  • Complete psychiatric assessment
  • Evaluates and treats clients as needed for medical issues including patient education.
  • Provide regularly scheduled psychiatric patient care.
  • Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with Mental Illness

Requirements

  • Current, Virginia Board of Nursing and the Virginia Board of Medicine and Nursing to practice Independently as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority.
  • Current DEA prescriptive authority .
  • Experience working with other professionals to ensure best practice.
  • Skilled in the use of technology, software, and resources to assist and aid in the course of daily medical responsibilities.
  • Experience in documenting in the medical record and articulating and interacting with patients and others regarding clinical / administrative concerns
  • Graduate of an accredited graduate nurse practitioner program and certified as a psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

License/Certifications:

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (Required)
  • DEA Certification (Required

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $52.00 - $60.00 per hour

License/Certification:

  • PMHNP (Preferred)
