Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to diverse patient populations. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, medication management, and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up visits, adjusting treatment strategies as needed.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medication use, and coping strategies to empower recovery.
  • Document all clinical encounters accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Skills

  • Proven experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and medication management protocols.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote psychiatric consultations.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of diverse backgrounds, including children and seniors.
  • Experience working in various healthcare settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or assisted living facilities.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation, including Workers' compensation law and confidentiality standards like HIPAA. This role requires a proactive approach to patient care, a passion for mental health advocacy, and the flexibility to work across multiple clinical environments including acute care hospitals, nursing homes, or outpatient clinics. Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
