Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health services to diverse patient populations. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychopharmacology, therapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
- Prescribe medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers while monitoring efficacy and side effects.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Provide crisis intervention and acute psychiatric management in emergency or inpatient settings.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies using EMR/EHR systems.
Skills
- Proven experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for efficient documentation.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication management strategies.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms to deliver remote psychiatric services effectively.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments across age groups including children, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience in crisis management within acute care environments such as emergency rooms or inpatient units.
- Skilled in behavioral health interventions, case management coordination, and discharge planning processes.
- Knowledge of relevant medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation (ICD-10/ICD-9 coding), and CPT coding for billing purposes. Pay: $180,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
