Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - PMHNP

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations, risk assessments, and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding standards.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and state regulations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, medication management, and patient education to optimize mental health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide telehealth services utilizing EMR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to ensure seamless patient documentation and follow-up.
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain detailed medical records adhering to HIPAA regulations while ensuring accurate clinical documentation for billing and compliance purposes.

Qualifications

  • Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure.
  • Proven experience in behavioral health settings with knowledge of psychopharmacology and therapeutic modalities.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
  • Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding standards and CPT coding for billing purposes.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and physiological evaluations when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage patients in their care journey.
