Braincare Performance Center is expanding our Interventional Psychiatry program and is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing Colorado team.

This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a collaborative, physician-led outpatient setting that combines traditional psychiatric medication management with innovative repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) treatment for depression and other mental health conditions.

Unlike high-volume medication management practices, our providers have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients while working alongside a highly trained interdisciplinary team dedicated to improving outcomes through evidence-based care.

This position offers a unique regional practice model with a home base in either Denver Tech Center (Greenwood Village) or South Colorado Springs, with scheduled travel between clinics approximately two days per week.

Position Summary

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for patients in an outpatient behavioral health setting.

The PMHNP will also play an integral role in our growing Interventional Psychiatry Program, evaluating patients for repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), monitoring treatment response, and collaborating closely with our Medical Director to provide individualized, evidence-based care.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a provider who enjoys practicing at the top of their license while being supported by experienced physicians, TMS technicians, and administrative staff.

Work Location

This position may be based out of either:

Denver Tech Center (Greenwood Village) with travel to our Colorado Springs clinic approximately two days each week

OR

South Colorado Springs with travel to our Denver Tech Center clinic approximately two days each week.

Mileage reimbursement is provided for required travel between clinic locations.

What You'll Do

Psychiatric Evaluations

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
  • Establish DSM-5 diagnoses
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Evaluate new patients for medication management

Medication Management

  • Initiate and adjust psychotropic medications
  • Monitor medication effectiveness and side effects
  • Manage treatment-resistant depression using evidence-based approaches
  • Conduct routine follow-up appointments
  • Monitor patient progress and functional improvement

Interventional Psychiatry (rTMS)

  • Evaluate patients for rTMS candidacy
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director regarding treatment planning
  • Perform or assist with Motor Threshold (MT) determinations (training provided if needed)
  • Monitor patient outcomes using measurement-based care
  • Identify patients requiring treatment modifications
  • Participate in ongoing rTMS program development

Patient Safety

  • Perform suicide risk assessments
  • Develop safety plans when indicated
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Deliver psychoeducation and supportive counseling

Collaboration

Work closely with:

  • Medical Director
  • TMS Technicians
  • Administrative Team
  • Referring Providers
  • Therapists
  • Primary Care Providers

Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and treatment planning discussions.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete documentation within 24–48 hours
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation
  • Follow payer requirements including Medicare, TRICARE, and commercial insurers
  • Utilize standardized clinical documentation templates
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

  • Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Active Colorado APRN License (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Active DEA Registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum one year of psychiatric or behavioral health experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to travel between clinic locations approximately two days each week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with treatment-resistant depression
  • Experience with repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)
  • Experience with Spravato® or other interventional psychiatry treatments
  • Experience caring for military members and veterans
  • Telepsychiatry experience
  • Experience with EMR systems such as SimplePractice, Epic, or Athenahealth
