Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

Private practice with locations in downtown Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Lindenhurst (Long Island) is seeking compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) and/or Psychiatrists to join our team.

The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations and medication monitoring to adults (males and females) who present with various mental health issues and who are involved in the criminal justice system. This hybrid position involves conducting appointments primarily via Telehealth and occasionally in person (if residing in New York).

Duties

• Perform psychiatric evaluations to assess clients’ mental health status, provide diagnoses, recommend appropriate treatment options, and prescribe psychotropic medication as deemed necessary
• Prescribe medication and provide timely refills as needed, ensuring patients have access to appropriate medications
• Utilize an Electronic Record System to complete Progress Notes and maintain up-to-date contact logs
• Ensure that client files are up-to-date
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish speaking a plus)
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all client interactions
• Communicate with the Referral Agency

Qualifications/Requirements

• Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Licensed in the State of New York OR Board-Certified Psychiatrist - Licensed in the State of New York
• Must operate under a business entity with an Employer Identification Number (EIN) - This is required for contractor roles with our company
• MUST have your own Electronic Prescribing Software (Ex: Practice Fusion, Charm, etc)
• Provider must be actively credentialed with New York Medicaid
• Active NY DEA
• Cannot require supervision
• Ideally, reside in the state of New York
• Ideally, a minimum of two years of experience
• Primary care experience with the ability to diagnose and treat both acute and chronic care conditions
• Malpractice insurance coverage is needed
• Must be tech-savvy, proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and preferably have telemedicine experience
• Must have a clean background and medical malpractice history

Hours: Flexible - Set Your Own Schedule
