Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate 1099 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our mental health team! In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to patients across diverse age groups and clinical settings. Your expertise will help improve mental health outcomes, promote recovery, and support the well-being of individuals facing behavioral health challenges. Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring safe and effective treatment tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care plans.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and medical records management.
  • Provide patient education on medication administration, behavioral strategies, and coping skills to promote adherence and recovery.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to extend mental health services remotely, ensuring accessibility for all patients.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance treatment protocols and patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing (PMHNP-BC or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in behavioral health settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or emergency rooms.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, medication management, and diagnostic evaluation using ICD-10 coding standards.
  • Be able to complete efficient documentation within 24 hours of each appointment.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations and mental health assessments confidently.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
