Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN)

Inner City Family Services (ICFS) is a behavioral health organization committed to providing high-quality, community-based mental health and substance use services. As we expand our services in Detroit, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team and support our growing consumer population.

Position Summary:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) will provide Medication/Somatic services, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing clinical support to consumers with mental health and co-occurring disorders. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within an underserved community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
  • Provide medication management and monitor treatment effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and leadership to ensure coordinated care
  • Participate in case consultations and team meetings as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state, Medicaid, and organizational standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in the State of Michigan
  • Board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Current DEA license and prescriptive authority in Michigan
  • Experience providing psychiatric services to diverse populations, including adults and/or children/adolescents
  • Strong knowledge of psychotropic medications and best practices in behavioral health treatment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in community-based behavioral health or outpatient settings
  • Experience working with Medicaid populations
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems (e.g., TheraNest or similar platforms)
  • Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders

Pay: $48.00 - $65.00 per hour
