Independent Contractor Position

The Holistic Hive is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and clinically strong Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing interdisciplinary practice as an independent contractor. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work within a highly relational, trauma-informed, community-centered environment serving children, adolescents, adults, and families across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

We are looking for a provider who values both clinical excellence and human connection, and who is comfortable working alongside therapists, yoga therapists, forensic professionals, educators, and community-based supports.

The Holistic Hive is a multidisciplinary mental health and wellness practice integrating traditional psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, forensic services, expressive and somatic therapies, parenting support, and community programming. Our work is rooted in accessibility, authenticity, and whole-person care.

This is not a high-volume medication mill. We prioritize thoughtful assessment, collaborative care, and meaningful clinical relationships.

Position Overview

The PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning for clients across the lifespan. Providers may work with children, adolescents, adults, perinatal populations, or specialized clinical niches depending on experience and interest.

This is a flexible independent contractor position with the ability to build and shape your caseload.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
• Provide medication management services
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with therapists and other treatment team members
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Participate in interdisciplinary consultation as needed
• Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive care
• Maintain compliance with all Maryland licensing and practice regulations
• Utilize HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms when appropriate

Preferred Clinical Experience

Experience working with any of the following populations is strongly valued:

• Trauma and PTSD
• ADHD and executive functioning concerns
• Anxiety and mood disorders
• Children and adolescents
• Perinatal mental health
• Neurodivergent clients
• High-conflict family systems
• Complex trauma and attachment-related presentations

Qualifications

• Active PMHNP license in the State of Maryland
• DEA and CDS registration
• Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
• Ability to practice independently and ethically
• Strong communication and collaborative skills
• Experience with EHR systems and telehealth preferred
• Willingness to work within a relational, interdisciplinary care model
