Britton Counseling Services is seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled, and patient-centered Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or other qualified psychiatric provider to join our growing multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality psychiatric care while collaborating with therapists, peer support specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, evidence-based treatment.

This position offers flexibility through both in-person and telehealth services, with a preference for candidates who are available to provide face-to-face care in our office locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.
  • Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical best practices.
  • Provide medication management follow-up appointments.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness, medication adherence, and potential side effects.
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, peer support specialists, primary care providers, and other treatment team members.
  • Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and appropriate clinical recommendations when necessary.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, payer, and organizational regulations and standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations and treatment planning meetings as appropriate.

QualificationsRequired

  • Active and unrestricted North Carolina license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or other qualified psychiatric prescribing provider.
  • DEA registration and prescriptive authority in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of psychiatric assessment and medication management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment practices.
  • Proficiency in ICD-10 diagnostic coding and clinical documentation standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Experience utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.

Preferred

  • Experience treating both mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
  • Availability to provide in-person services in addition to telehealth appointments.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance documentation requirements.

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, licensure, and availability.
