Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Outpatient / Flexible (1099)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing outpatient practice.

This role involves providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care in a flexible, outpatient setting.

This is a part-time opportunity with the ability to grow over time as patient volume increases. Ideal for a provider seeking a flexible schedule or supplemental income.

Our practice also offers advanced treatment modalities, including Spravato (esketamine) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), with opportunities for involvement and training for interested providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
• Manage a patient panel with a high degree of autonomy
• Collaborate with clinical staff and providers as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Active Nurse Practitioner license (NY or NJ, or eligible)
• Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• DEA license (or eligible)
• Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills
• Ability to work independently in an outpatient setting
• Active Medicare and Medicaid enrollment

Preferred

• Experience in outpatient psychiatry or telehealth
• Ability to manage patients independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with medication management for common psychiatric conditions
• Interest or experience in interventional psychiatry (e.g., Spravato, TMS)
• Spanish-speaking preferred (not required)
