Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients across various age groups, including children, adults, and seniors.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate psychopharmacology, therapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
  • Manage medication regimens, including prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting psychiatric medications in accordance with best practices and legal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and follow-up services.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Tebra and Epic to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services remotely.
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies to promote recovery and resilience.

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in psychiatric medication management, including psychopharmacology principles.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for seamless documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health conditions, diagnostic evaluation (ICD-10 coding), and treatment modalities.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status exams, and risk evaluations.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
