VivacityPsych Inc. is a growing outpatient mental health practice providing medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. Our mission is to expand access to compassionate, high-quality psychiatric care through both in-person and telepsychiatry services.

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Physician Assistant who is interested in growing with a supportive and expanding private practice, and is passionate about mental health with a commitment to continued learning and growth within the field.

Position Overview

This role will begin as a part-time 1099 position with the opportunity to transition into a full-time W-2 role as the practice continues to grow. The role is flexible with mostly virtual appointments, and on-site appointments in Stafford, VA (or other locations) as needed. We are actively seeking a second location in Northern Virginia.

You will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care via telehealth and in-person visits.

Minimum Requirements and Experience (Please apply only if you meet these)

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies
• Active, unrestricted Virginia license
• Willingness to obtain Maryland license
• Active Virginia DEA license
• Minimum 1 -2 years experience in psychiatry or mental health care
• Comfortable treating patients ages 5+ across the lifespan
• Comfortable providing care via telehealth
• Must be comfortable with 15–30 minute follow-up visits and 45–60 minute initial evaluations
• Strong documentation and clinical decision-making skills
• Proven ability to adhere to medical standards and protocols while providing exceptional patient care.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration within the healthcare team.

Preferred Qualifications

• CAQ in Psychiatry (Certificate of Added Qualifications)
• Experience treating children and adolescents
• Experience in outpatient/private practice settings

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Diagnose and treat mental health conditions
• Provide ongoing medication management and follow-ups
• Maintain timely and accurate EHR documentation
• Collaborate with clinical team as needed
• Provide telehealth and occasional in-person care
